Dana Indane – Surkiene is Latvian voice improvisation artist, singer and performance artist living in Kaunas, Lithuania. She has been performing in various interdisciplinary music and theatre projects for last 20 years, as well as giving lectures, courses and workshops on topics like opening of voice, self awareness and free improvisation for the last 10 years in both academic and alternative platforms. Dana has MA degree in Theatre Arts from Latvian Academy of Culture and MA degree in Contemporary Improvisation from Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre. She has also studied psychology and performance art, and focuses on self consciousness through body, voice and artistic expression.
